Assalamu alaikum

100% SCHOOL ENROLLMENT. ZERO DROPOUTS. HOW?

Education is fundamental to humans. Muslims have seriously lagged behind in spite of major efforts in this direction. Only a small percentage of our children pass 10th standard. Can we change this condition? What is the fastest and most efficient way of ensuring every boy and girl gets to complete schooling?
In this month’s edition of the professional meet, we have invited activists with years of experience to share their thoughts.

·  Mohamed Ali Shariff has an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad and a MA in developmental economics from the London School of Economics. He will make a presentation on the present status of school education and the various community initiatives to improve it.

·  Ameen Mudassir is a computer engineer, formerly with Infosys and is now a full time activist. He is our authority on scholarships and career guidance. He will speak on how scholarships have helped bring children to school and also on the cost effectiveness of scholarships.

·  Tanzil Rahman is an MBA from IIM Bangalore. He is an activist in the field of education as well as civil rights. He will present his experiences on the impact of adopting government schools to achieve 100 % schooling.

·  Several organizations like Al-Ameen, Students Islamic Organization and the Popular Front of India run awareness campaigns to enrol children in school. What is the impact? Let us hear from the PFI their experience.

·  Tazayun Omar, our own Mother Teresa, has toiled for more than 10 years adopting an entire area and started multiple initiatives for the socioeconomic and educational development of a focused area. How well has it worked? Tazayun apa will make a short presentation.

These talks will be followed by a Q&A session/Panel Discussion with audience participation. We shall be inviting government officers and concerned members of the community to participate in this meeting on the 5th of March at 7pm at BIFT hall Darussalaam building inshaAllah.
