Professional Meet/ Family Dinner
Ye are the best of peoples, evolved for
mankind, enjoining what is right, forbidding what is wrong, and believing in
Allah. If only the People of the Book had faith, it were best for them: among
them are some who have faith, but most of them are perverted transgressors.
Al-Quran 003.110
Assalamu alaikum
The Islamic way of Life is the sole guarantor of true
peace, progress, prosperity and salvation. Practicing good and calling people
towards it while abstaining from bad and forbidding people from it is the
hallmark of the best people, the best nation. History is made by them who
persevere in this work, unswayed by popular trends, fashions or opinions. It is
fashionable to do social service, while it is unfashionable to talk about God,
His Prophets and Life after Death. To hold on to the correct principle, though
usually unpopular, to be known for all the good things and to shun bad things
is the Purpose of Successful Lives. Allah (swt) helps and protects such of His
slaves.
As long as Muslims understood this position of theirs
and the consequent role and responsibility, honour was theirs wherever they
went. Alas, we forgot. We turned away from this. We became communal. We became
unjust. We became unproductive, useless, pitiable, dishonoured slaves. We are
not known to uphold truth and justice, kindness and charity, purity and trust,
love and brotherhood, respect and courtesy, sharing and caring, modesty and
hardwork, faith and integrity, forgiveness and contentment, gratitude and
graciousness, sincerity and patience, humility and servitude to Allah (swt).
It’s time we reminded ourselves the values we must
stand for, the principles that are our identity, our role and responsibility.
